Family photos

On Thursday a good friend of ours, Rachel, took some family photos! Rachel's husband is one of the youth ministers from our church and they both lead worship for Matt's service. She's a very talented photographer and we feel blessed to have had her take our first official family photos. Charlotte and I were both sick, but somehow Rachel got Charlotte to smile and laugh nearly the entire time. I can't wait to see all of the photos, but for now the sneak peek is tiding me over :) More to come soon!

Happy Valentines Day!

It's a beautiful day here in Houston (high is 72!), so Charlotte and I decided to play outside this morning. She's had a cold the last few days, but seems to be feeling a little better today. Although, she still has a runny nose :(

Yesterday she took a 3 hour nap. For those of you who know her habits, you know that this NEVER happens. It was a glorious day for me :) It was pretty funny because Jackson kicked more yesterday than he has in total. Matt even got to feel him from the outside for the first time. I've decided that Jackson missed his sister and was wondering what the deal was :)

I meant to post after Charlotte's 9 month check-up with her weight/height. She's 24.8 lbs (95th percentile), 28 inches long (75th percentile) and her head circumference is 18 inches (90th percentile). She has been well above the 100th percentile in weight, but she's been moving around so much that she dropped down! Of course, she's still in the 95th ;) I don't think she's going to loose those rolls anytime soon (WHEW!)

9 Months Old

My sweet girl...I really wish this wasn't blurry because it is SO her

How did I go an entire month without updating? Her 9 month check-up is next week so I'll be sure to update with her length and weight. Although, my mom was here last week and she swears Charlotte has lost weight. I think she's just stretched out so her sweet little rolls are starting to disappear. So sad :( I just realized that we never posted that we found out we're having a little BOY! Charlotte is very excited she won't have to share her clothes :) We've decided to name him Jackson, but we're still working on the middle name. Stay tuned! We feel very blessed to have one of each. God is so good!

9 Month Update:

- Started clapping! It's the cutest thing, and she's so proud of herself when she makes a loud noise :)

- Starting waving hello...it's pretty funny. She puts her whole body into it. It's still hit and miss, but she's getting the hang of it!

- Getting VERY good at standing, it's all she wants to do these days. She will walk if you hold her hands and walk along with her.

- Still no interest in crawling. When I try to put her down on her tummy she pops up like she's doing downward dog (the yoga pose) haha she's so stubborn

- Loving music more and more. Even if music is playing in the distance she'll start dancing along...she's just added the clapping to her dance moves. It's hysterical. I often wonder how this love of music will show itself later in her life- will she be a dancer? a musician?

- One of her upper teeth has finally come in! It's only half-way in though. At least it's here :)

- We're beginning to introduce more table foods. She loves eating with us and feeding herself.
